Greetings, I’m James Yelo, a senior majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology within the College of Science and Health (COSH) at Benedictine University. I’m excited to be part of the Student Senate for the academic year 23-24. A deep appreciation has marked my journey here for the sense of community and the opportunities to effect positive change. Throughout my time at Benedictine, I’ve come to understand the vital role student leaders play in shaping our campus experience. As a senior, I felt responsible for making Benedictine University an even more inclusive, comfortable, and welcoming place for all students. This drive led me to join the Student Senate, where I hope to collaborate with my peers to address important issues, advocate for student interests, and create an environment where every student can thrive.
