Meet the Orientation Leaders
Benedictine orientation leaders are undergraduate student leaders selected and trained to assist new students arrival to Benedictine. They act as guides, small group leaders, mentors and resources for new incoming students and parents. They will provide answers to any questions regarding the transition to Benedictine University. Orientation Leaders
Major: Finance and Marketing
Why did you want to become an Orientation Leader? I want to be an Orientation Leader because I have a warm and friendly personality! I am passionate about helping the incoming freshmen and transfer students navigate their undergraduate experience. I want to ensure the incoming class has a smooth transition from high school to college life and find it vital for creating a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment! When I was a freshman at BenU, I remember how welcoming my orientation leaders were, and I want to do the same for the incoming class! I know I can contribute significantly.

Why did you want to become an Orientation Leader? I want to be an orientation leader to allow myself to guide people and lead them, but most importantly to help others in a setting they are unfamiliar in. I’ve been in their shoes before and the past OLs helped me in finding my place at school so I want to give back to the new freshman and let them feel comfortable at school.

Why did you want to become an Orientation Leader? I want to be an Orientation Leader because I would like to share the knowledge that I have gained over my years at Benedictine University. It is super important to me that everyone feels welcomed and included, and I’d love to foster that sense of community as an Orientation Leader with the incoming freshmen.

Why did you want to become an Orientation Leader? I want to be an Orientation Leader because I remember how overwhelming the transition into college can feel, especially during the first few weeks. Having someone who was welcoming, approachable, and knowledgeable made a big difference for me, and I want to be that person for incoming students.

Why did you want to become an Orientation Leader? I want to be an orientation leader because I remember how overwhelming it felt when I started at Benedictine, and it would have been great if someone had helped me make that transition easier for new students. I enjoy meeting new people and helping them feel comfortable and included. Being an OL feels like a good way to give back to the school and be a friendly face for students who might be nervous about what to expect.

Why did you want to become an Orientation Leader? I want to be an Orientation Leader because I genuinely understand what it feels like to come to campus without established connections and have to build a sense of belonging from the ground up. My experience getting involved in leadership, tutoring, and founding an organization showed me how powerful a welcoming environment can be in shaping a student’s confidence and success. I want to be part of the first impression new students have of Benedictine – someone who helps them feel supported, informed, and excited rather than overwhelmed. Being an Orientation Leader would allow me to combine my passion for mentorship, leadership, and community-building in a role that directly impacts students during a critical transition point.

Why did you want to become an Orientation Leader? I want to be an Orientation Leader because I enjoy helping others feel welcome and supported, just like my previous leader did for me. I like sharing my experiences and guiding new students, including international students, to ensure they have a smooth and positive start at Benedictine. I enjoyed doing last year with the newbies.
