Office of Belonging

The Office of Belonging at Benedictine University is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive campus environment where everyone within the BenU community feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. Through strategic programs, advocacy, and collaboration, the Office is committed to cultivating a culture of belonging that enhances student success, faculty engagement, and institutional excellence. Key initiatives include community-building events, professional development workshops, equity in policy and processes, and resource support to ensure that every member of our community has the opportunity to engage, contribute, and succeed. By recognizing the sanctity and dignity of every human individual and by embracing the multitude of perspectives and lived experiences, the Office of Belonging strengthens the university’s commitment to access, equity, and holistic well-being.

Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (Campus Center)

TRHT Campus Centers play a vital role in the national TRHT effort to address historical and contemporary effects of racism by building sustainable capacity to promote deep, transformational change. With the shared goal of preparing the next generation of leaders and thinkers to build equitable and just communities by dismantling the false belief in a hierarchy of human value, each campus center uses the TRHT framework to implement its own visionary action plan for creating new narratives about race in their communities and promoting racial healing and relationship building through campus-community engagement” (AAC&U).
