BenU Professor Signs Book Contract with Johns Hopkins University Press

  |

Benedictine University Professor Jean-Marie Kauth, PhD, MPH, signed a book contract with Johns Hopkins University Press (JHUP). JHUP is America’s oldest university press, established at the nation’s first research university in 1878. They are renowned for being one of the very best in the world in environmental health.

“Poisoning Children” is the culmination of decades of work in science, humanities, and public health. The book addresses a broad audience in asking its central question: if we know we are literally poisoning our children and destroying the only climate that sustains life in the known universe, why are we not adopting the practical, affordable, do-able solutions to those problems? I am thrilled to be working with my top-choice publisher and encourage everyone to follow my progress via blog or Substack.

– Dr. Kauth

In addition to finishing her book, “Poisoning Children,” Dr. Kauth will be migrating the Environmental Tip of the Week to her Substack. Dr. Kauth has written these tips for 16 years at Benedictine University. Her Substack will host interviews with scientists, healthcare providers, activists, and families affected by environmental degradation. It will also contain everyday tips on how to protect yourself from environmental chemicals, information about the impacts of climate change, and ideas about how to help defend human health and ecosystems – our common home.

Congratulations to Dr. Kauth!
