Westlake Foundation Scholarship

Overview

The Westlake Foundation Scholarship (WFS) provides financial support for prospective students to pursue their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) through the RN to BSN program at Benedictine University. Benedictine is classified as a minority serving institution and as such, we expect to enhance recruitment of a diverse student population and first-generation college students who will benefit from the Scholarship.

All students admitted and enrolled into the Benedictine University RN to BSN program for the 2023-2024 academic year are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Eligible applicants will receive the one time award to be utilized throughout the BSN coursework. Scholarship amounts will vary based upon meeting the eligibility criteria.

Applicant Requirements for Review

• Successful admittance to Benedictine University RN to BSN program for the 2023-2024 academic year (fall 2023 or summer 2024).
• Completion and submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with Benedictine’s school code 001767 added.
• A 2-3 paragraph essay to describe your nursing goals and financial situation.

Deadlines for Applicant Review

June 15, 2023 (Fall 2023 Cohort — August Start Date)
March 1, 2024 (Summer 2024 Cohort — May Start Date)
June 15, 2024 (Fall 2024 Cohort — August Start Date)

Minimum Requirements for Receiving the Scholarship

• Successful completion of Associate of Applied Science (AAS) nursing degree from an accredited Community College
• An unencumbered RN License
• Successful completion of required prerequisite courses (STATS, English composition 1&2)
• Successful enrollment in Department of Nursing & Health coursework at Benedictine University.
