Benedictine University is proud to announce incoming freshman to Benedictine University that have been admitted to the institution and meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for the Project Lead the Way Scholarship!
A limited number of $2,000 tuition-based scholarships are available to incoming freshmen students who have completed at least one Project Lead the Way (PLTW) high school course, and have applied by the February 1 priority deadline to be a full time student at Benedictine University. These scholarships are one-time awards in the amount of $2,000.
Eligibility
- Attended a certified PLTW high school
- Successful completion of at least one PLTW course
- A minimum unweighted cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or equivalent
- Completion of Pre-Calculus or equivalent before high school graduation; preference will be given to students who will have completed a year of Calculus in high school
- Complete BenU On-line Application by February 1 priority deadline
- Enrolled as an undergraduate, full-time, first year student at Benedictine University
Required Documents
- Complete BenU On-line Application by February 1 priority deadline, designating full time status at BenU
- Completed PLTW Scholarship application by February 1 priority deadline
- Completed Petition for External Credit form. Grade of “P” (Pass) for PLTW courses will appear on the BenU transcript for eligible courses and a nonrefundable posting fee of $10 per credit hour will be charged to your account.
- Official High School Transcript, including Evidence of PLTW course completion
- Grades and unweighted cumulative GPA through first semester of senior year of high school
- 1 letter of recommendation from your PLTW coordinator or teacher directly referring to your contribution to the program
