Fine arts are visual and auditory art forms that are created primarily for aesthetic and intellectual purposes and include painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, architecture, music, and literature. A Fine Arts degree from Benedictine University will teach you important skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication and give you a better understanding of the world around you.
Fine arts are often distinguished from applied arts, which are created with a specific practical function in mind, such as furniture, pottery, and textiles. They are a valuable part of our culture and society and deserve to be nurtured and supported.
Imagine yourself as a professional artist, creating beautiful and meaningful works of art that inspire and amaze others. At BenU, you will learn the fundamental principles of design and composition, and how to use them to create visually appealing and meaningful works of art. You will also develop your creativity and critical thinking skills, and gain a working knowledge of professional practices in the arts.
After graduating from BenU with a Fine Arts degree, you could apply to a graduate program in art history, studio art, or art education. Or, you could start your own career as an artist, designer, or art educator.
No matter what path you choose, BenU will give you the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in your career and make a difference in the world.
