Data Analytics Certificate
Benedictine University’s online Certificate in Data Analytics can be completed as a standalone credential or as part of the CEPH-accredited Master of Public Health program. This graduate certificate is designed for health care professionals seeking to learn statistical methods commonly used in public health efforts in order to inform and improve initiatives through data-driven evidence.
Through asynchronous online courses, students pursuing this certificate learn to use analytical software programs and gain specialized skills in biostatistical methods, applied linear models and categorical data analysis. The certificate prepares graduates to apply their knowledge in a range of careers.
Certificates can be completed as a standalone credential or while pursuing any of our graduate degree programs. All certificates can be completed within one academic year, taken one at a time each 8 week session and are all asynchronous.

Upon completion of this program students will have gained:
- Apply mathematical and statistical theory and methods to understand and address health problems.
- Collect, organize, interpret and summarize data to provide actionable information on topics such as infectious diseases, air pollution and cancer.
- Gain basic knowledge of a statistical software package used by many organizations, SPSS.
- Learn to utilize and apply statistical methods such as one- and two-way ANOVA, ANCOVA, diagnostics, model building, regression analysis, McNemar’s Test and Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel Method.
Health care professionals who hold a Certificate in Data Analytics can pursue lucrative job titles including biostatistician, data scientist and research analyst. After completing this graduate certificate, individuals may seek roles in the following settings:

Applicants must demonstrate proof of a baccalaureate degree from a regionally-accredited college or university and must meet with a graduate student success advisor prior to registering and upon completion of the certificate courses. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.000 in certificate-applicable coursework is required to receive a certificate, with no grade lower than “C.”
