Graduating with Honors
Graduating with honors
Only undergraduate students graduate with honors distinctions. Graduation honors are determined on the basis of coursework completed only at Benedictine University. Eligibility for graduation honors is contingent upon completion of the following specified number of undergraduate credit hours (excluding external, non-BenU credit hours) and achieved cumulative GPA at BenU. Students with any graduation honor are eligible to receive a gold honor cord to be worn with their graduation regalia.
Note that individual BenU academic programs and honor societies may distribute their own honor cords of colors other than gold. These will be distributed individually by program/department.
Distribution of honor cords
Honor cords are only distributed to undergraduate students who qualify.
- For the Lisle Campus: Honor Cords will be distributed at the Night of Honor & Gratitude Ceremony on May 8th at 5:00pm in the Goodwin Auditorium and can also picked up in Kindlon Hall on the morning of Commencement on the Lisle Campus.
- For the Mesa Campus: Please contact Myra Carlos for Honor Cords at [email protected]
