Diploma & Degree Information
When will my degree be posted as earned on my transcript?
Degrees will be reflected on your academic transcript after the record has been reviewed by the Registrar, confirming that all graduation requirements have been satisfied. This process is called degree conferral. Degree conferral dates are:
- Spring: May 31
- Summer: August 31
- Fall: December 31
About receiving my diploma
Diplomas are sent directly from our printing company and they are mailed to your home address. The Office of the Registrar sends diplomas 4 to 6 weeks after degree conferral, not after Commencement or the end of the academic term.
Participation in the Commencement Convocation is optional but encouraged. Receiving your diploma is not dependent on your participation in the Commencement Convocation.
Dual degrees and diplomas
Undergraduate Students
Students who declare a double major will be awarded one degree and issued one diploma.
- If the two majors fall under different degree types (e.g., Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science), the university will confer both majors under the higher degree level, with the exception of the BSN program.
- Students in the BSN program who have a previous Benedictine degree will receive a second, separate diploma for the BSN.
Graduate Students
- Students completing two master’s programs will be listed in the Commencement program for each degree earned and will receive a diploma for each degree.
- However, they will only cross the stage once and may wear only one hood. Students should select the hood color that aligns with the degree program they wish to represent during the ceremony.
