The Benedictine University women’s basketball team has been recognized for its academic excellence, earning a spot in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 with the fifth-highest team grade-point average (GPA) in NCAA Division III. The Eagles posted an impressive 3.814 cumulative GPA during the 2024-25 season, marking them as the only Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) program to receive this prestigious distinction.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Oliver Wiseman, MA, the team has continued to excel both on the court and in the classroom. The WBCA Academic Top 25 honors women’s basketball teams across all collegiate divisions that achieve the highest combined GPAs. Now in its 30th year, the award highlights programs committed to academic success.
“We are incredibly proud of our women’s basketball team for this outstanding achievement,” said Benedictine University Director of Athletics Paul Nelson. “Their hard work in balancing athletics and academics exemplifies the values of Benedictine University, and this recognition is a testament to their commitment to excellence.”
