Benedictine University is hosting the ACCA Spring Symposium speaker this year. Phoebe Rice, PhD, from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Chicago will give a talk entitled:
“Structural basis for directionality in large serine integrase-mediated site-specific recombination.”
Two of the Nobel Prizes given last fall related to AlphaFold, an amazingly successful AI algorithm for predicting protein structures. Dr. Rice’s work make use of this cutting edge technology and answers fundamental questions about how proteins interact with DNA.
The seminar will be in Goodwin 411 at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
