My name is Amaan Faruqi, and I am a sophomore majoring in Biology with a minor in Medical Humanities. I am a part of the College of Science and Health, and the reason I joined Student Senate is because I believe it is important to advocate for fellow students to create a healthy and inclusive campus environment. With our school being very science-oriented, I feel it’s really important to focus on the development of a more holistic approach to science by encouraging increased interactions among students in various STEM fields. Also, I believe it is really important to emphasize the global importance of science, ranging from climate change and pandemics to resource scarcity.
