What is the L.E.A.D.S. Program?

L.E.A.D.S. is a four-year program that offers a transformative experience for undergraduate women who demonstrate a desire to grow as leaders. The Benedictine hallmarks serve as the foundation of the program, while leadership principles guide the program’s content. The goal of L.E.A.D.S. is to develop outstanding leaders driven to become agents of change for the good of all.

L.E.A.D.S. is based on the principles of Benevolent Leadership, an emerging model of leadership informed by insight related to ethics/morality, spirituality, vitality/positivity, and community, all qualities of leadership contributing to the common good.

Students who are accepted in to the L.E.A.D.S. program will:

      • Develop a skillset so when they leave this academic institution, they will enter the world of work as a leader, in their own right;
      • Demonstrate a strong sense of character, embodying courage, confidence, and resolve;
      • Interwoven with grace and generosity for self, others, and the community;
      • Become grounded solidly in their core values, positively impacting this world

Through a variety of programming and events, L.E.A.D.S. participants will gain a clearer understanding of their own leadership style and learn how to use those strengths to grow as authentic leaders. L.E.A.D.S. will expose you to women across the University and across the country who will mentor, monitor and inspire you to reach your potential.

Whether your professional goals put you in an operating room, classroom or boardroom, L.E.A.D.S. is designed to help you prepare for life after college and lead with integrity no matter the setting or situation.
