Summer Fun Day Camp

Campers entering Kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to spend a fun-filled summer with us at Benedictine University in Lisle!

Campers entering Kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to spend a fun-filled summer with us at Benedictine University in Lisle! Our program promotes healthy living and self-esteem by engaging campers ages 5 – 11 in academic activities and safe outdoor learning experiences. Outside, we participate in recreational basketball, traditional and new camp games, and water activities (but no swimming). Our indoor activities include crafts, games, movies, fun academic activities and university activities like going to the Jurica-Suchy Nature Museum.

Age Eligibility

Children ages 5-11 who are enrolled in Kindergarten through 6th grade for the 2020-2021 school year are eligible to register for Summer Fun Day Camp.
*Note: Groups will be formed based on enrollment. The classroom group names are listed below:

  • Sparrows (1)
  • Penguins (2)

  • Falcons (4)
  • Hawks (5)
  • Eagles (6)

Camp Hours

Regular camp hours are 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday Friday, with the exception of holidays.  The full session price is charged regardless of how long a camper attends each day.

Drop off hours are 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Camp-organized activities run from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Pick-up hours are 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Campers should be dropped off no later than 9:00 a.m. and picked up no later than 6:00 p.m. If a child will be dropped off late (after 9:00 a.m.) or will be picked up early (before 4:00 p.m.), the parent/guardian is required to call the camp phone and speak with the camp director or assistant director to coordinate late drop-off or early pick up. Parents/guardians will be charged $1 per minute per child for any late pick-ups after 6:00 p.m.

Field Trips

Field trips are still being determined. They will be posted as soon as everything is set and scheduled! We appreciate your patience.

Campers may attend the field trip during the sessions they are already registered for. Campers who receive a behavioral incident report the week of the field trip (Monday through Thursday) will be disqualified from attending the field trip and we will not refund their payment.

Deadlines for field trips are on the Monday of the week before the actual date of the field trip. Any parent/guardian registering a child after the deadline will be subject to a $5.00 late fee.

   

Camp General Information

Registration/Payment

On March 30, registration will begin on this website and be open until each registration deadline or until capacity has been met for each session. Upon completing registration, the parent/guardian agrees to all terms and conditions listed on this page.

Payment is due in full at the time of registration for each session you are registering for. We no longer accept deposits or payments at the start of a session. The registration deadline is two weeks prior to the Monday start of a session or until capacity has been met for each session.

Receipts will be issued at the end of Summer Fun Day Camp 2022 when camp comes to a complete close, regardless of your child’s last session. We appreciate your patience.

Regular Rates

2022 Regular Rates Per Session: $215
Discounted rate per week for 2nd/3rd child: $185/$185

Prices are subject to change. Summer Fun Day Camp qualifies for a U.S. Income Tax child care deduction.

Refund Policy (Regular Rates Only)

A full refund minus a $20 administrative fee per session per child will be honored if requests are made online to the camp administration before the registration deadline for each session. After a registration deadline, a 50% refund minus a $20 administrative fee per session per child will be honored if requests are made via email to camp administration seven days prior to the session start. No refunds will be given the weekend before, the day of or the day after a session starts. Refunds will not be given if a child is dismissed from camp for behavioral misconduct. In the event, the University cancels due to unforseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued.

Form Submission

These forms must be completed by June 1, 2022, per child to avoid a $15.00 late submission fee. This ensures each child’s safety by identifying their needs prior to camp arrival.

The forms may be mailed to the Summer Fun Day Camp office at Benedictine University Attn: Katie Buell (Summer Fun Day Camp), 5700 College Road, Krasa Suite 111 Lisle IL 60532. The forms may also be scanned and emailed to the camp director [email protected] with Subject Line “SFDC Forms”, by June 1, 2022. 

Please download, read and complete the Camp Contact, Medical Information, Pick Up/Drop Off and Behavior/Discipline Contract, Media Consent Forms for each child.

Your child(ren) will not be allowed in Summer Fun Day Camp unless our records indicate that the forms have been properly completed and signed.

Camp T-shirt & Gym Shoes

For protection and easy identification, campers are required to wear gym shoes and their official camp T-shirt every day. Extra T-shirts can be purchased for $10 each. Please dress your child appropriately for the weather.

Snack & Lunch

Campers should bring a nut-free snack and full water bottle each day to camp. Please check ingredients before sending your child with a snack as we will not be providing a snack if your child(ren) is not able to eat their own. If your child is not able to eat their snack, a note explaining the reason will be sent home with them. Lunch will be provided daily in our cafeteria. Campers are encouraged to select two healthy food choices such as a  sandwich, vegetables, fruit or salad prior to eating their one unhealthy meal. Desserts may be available upon the chef’s choice, as long as they are nut-free. Beverage choices include a variety of juices, milk and water.

Supplies

Campers should bring a backpack with a nut-free snack and full water bottle each day. All items should be labeled in permanent marker with your child’s full name and carried in a small tote bag/backpack, also labeled with your child’s full name.

It is not necessary for a camper to bring any other items to camp. Other personal items brought for open recreation use such as books, balls and gloves are permitted, but these items will only be allowed during open recreation times and must be stored in their backpack otherwise. All items should be marked with the camper’s full name. We discourage small items such as playing cards and bouncy balls because they are easily lost. Campers are responsible for their own items. Summer Fun Day Camp is not responsible for any items lost, damaged or broken.

Electronic devices such as cameras, iPods or video game players are not allowed at camp. Any items the camp director deems to be potentially dangerous, harmful or problematic are not allowed.
