Via presentations and panel discussions, the LeadHership Summit will examine how leadership roles for women are currently evolving and how women are transforming leadership in all walks of life.
LeadHership is produced by Benedictine University’s young women’s leadership program called L.E.A.D.S. which stands for Leadership, Empowerment, Action, Development and Service. Created in 2021, it is a four-year co-curricular, transformational program for first-year undergraduate women who demonstrate a desire to grow as leaders.
According to Nicki Anderson, Director of the L.E.A.D.S. program, “LeadHership will enable young women to learn from and interact with women who are changing the landscape of how leadership is viewed today. This experience will be both practical and aspirational, and we hope life changing for the young women who attend and participate.”
Benedictine University President Charles Gregory will open the Summit to relate why L.E.A.D.S. was created and how it has advanced in a little more than one year. “I’m thrilled at the progress we’ve made toward our goal of creating new women leaders who will use the skills they are learning in the L.E.A.D.S. program and at this Summit to become agents of change for the good of their communities and the globe,” said Gregory.
A Summit highlight will be the keynote address by Trisha Prabhu, the inventor of ReThink™, a patented, world-acclaimed app that stops cyberbullying before damage is done. Prabhu invented ReThink when she was 13 years old. Still just 20, she has delivered 75-plus talks in 30 cities in 3 languages about the power of “ReThinking,” including on several TED and TEDx stages. She is a graduate of Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois and Harvard University, where she was recently named a recipient of the prestigious U.S. Rhodes Scholarship.
Following the Keynote address will be interactive panel discussions featuring three extraordinary leaders:
“In addition to benefiting from unique program content, summit participants will have the opportunity to meet and network with other leadership-focused people,” said Anderson. “This will be a great opportunity to generate leads for internships and entry level positions.”
