Congratulations to the Class of 1971
Congratulations to the Class of 1971 on being inducted as the newest members of the Benedictine University Golden Eagles as you celebrated the anniversary of your graduation from St. Procopius College!
We welcomed our Golden Eagles back to the Lisle campus May 13th & 14th. On Friday, May 13, the festivities began with a Lisle Campus Tour led by Matthew Jones, Director of Admissions. Our graduates were amazed to see how St. Procopius College has grown into the Benedictine University of today! After the conclusion of the tour, our alumni attended a ceremony dedicating commemorative bricks for their class celebrations led by our Chief Mission Officer, Dr. Peter A. Huff.
Later that evening, members of the class of 1971 gathered for a special cocktail reception followed by the Golden Eagles Induction Ceremony, during which President Charles W. Gregory personally greeted and presented each class member with their special Golden Eagles lapel pin. After the Golden Eagles pinning ceremony, Abbott Hugh Anderson, OSB, B.A. ’61 said a special grace, guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner and exchanged stories as well as legends of the days of St. Procopius.
Golden Eagles were invited back the following day, May 14, 2022 to attend a commencement mass and for a special recognition during Benedictine University’s 132nd Commencement Ceremony.
The festivities concluded with an all Benedictine Community Red Thread Reception where we celebrated the Benedictine values that connect us all.
