Department of Nursing and Health Program Outcomes

In addition to Student Learning Outcomes identified for the RN to BSN and MSN programs, the Department of Nursing and Health has designated the outcomes for program completion, employment rates, aggregate faculty outcomes, and other outcomes to demonstrate program effectiveness.

Program Completion

Program completion rates demonstrate program effectiveness.

  • 70% of students who begin the RN to BSN program and who do not voluntarily withdraw will complete the program within three years.
  • 70% of students who begin the MSN program and who do not voluntarily withdraw will complete the program within six years with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Employment Rates

Employment rates demonstrate program effectiveness.

  • 70% of graduates who seek employment will be employed within 12 months of program completion.

Aggregate Faculty Outcomes

Teaching Excellence

  • Excellence of Teacher will be rated 3.9 or higher on a 5.0 scale (unit average) on the IDEA Unit Summary Report.

Tentured/Tenture-Track FacultyProfessional Faculty
Scholarly and Professional Involvement and Achievement100% of full-time tenured/tenure-track faculty will participate in two professional development activities that enhance the faculty role on an annual basis.

Program alumni of each program will evaluate the degree to which the program facilitated meeting expected student learning outcomes, including those relative to each program’s respective AACN Essentials document at a mean of 5.5 or higher on a 7.0 scale on the AACN/Benchworks Alumni Assessment.

*The goal value, set by on the AACN/Benchworks, is a value of 5.50 on a 7-point scale or a value of 75% on the performance scale. Performance // Mean scaled from 0-100%. The translation is: “1” on the 7- point scale equates with 0% performance, “4” equates to 50% performance, and “7” equates to 100% performance.
