National trips provide students with the opportunity to expand their service into other states within our country. In the past, Benedictine has traveled to work at a mission parish with Native Americans in Wisconsin and to New Orleans, Louisiana to build and repair homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
National trips are offered during the "break periods" so that students do not have to miss class. For the 2012-2013 academic year, three trips are currently scheduled! More information about these trips can be found below
Sacred Heart Mission Parish
Sacred Heart Mission Parish is located in Hopkins Park, IL. The people of the parish and in the surrounding community in the surrounding community struggle with poverty. Benedictine University has been trying to help the need for many years. During the holiday season, University Ministry sponsors a collection of various items to try and provide the people with a Christmas that they will be able to enjoy. Students who participate in this trip will have the opportunity to form deep ties with the wonderful people of Hopkins Park.

Nazareth Farm - West Virginia
Nazareth Farm is a Catholic community in rural West Virginia that transforms lives through a service-retreat experience. "The Farm" is devoted to living out the Gospel message through the cornerstones of community, simplicity, prayer, and service. Volunteers serve in the local community to address substandard housing by providing home repair. "The Farm" celebrates the richness of Appalachia and allows one to experience God by building relationships between volunteers and the community.
