Director of University Ministry - Mark Kurowski, M.Div.

Mark Kurowski, M.Div. is responsible for the administration of the ministry office, as well as coordination of retreats and general ministry.  A graduate of Duke University Divinity School and Mundelein Seminary, he is an author, apologist, and practitioner of ministry.  His latest book is A Simple Guide to the Spiritual Life, and he records a podcast for MySpiritualAdvisor.com weekly.  He is available at (630) 829-6029, mkurowski@ben.edu, and on Twitter @BenUMinistry.

Pastoral Associate for Faculty, Staff, and Moser College - Br. Rick Poro, O.S.B.

Br. Rick Poro, O.S.B. came to Benedictine after working in Benet Academy's Business Office.  He is a true Benedictine presence on campus.  He routinely visits faculty, staff, and Moser College, gives Abbey tours upon request, and leads Lectio Divina (Sacred Scripture Reading) and prayer services.  Br. Rick entered St. Procopius Abbey in August 1992.  He earned a B.A. in Business and Communications from Elmhurst College.  He is available at (630) 829-6033 and rporo@ben.edu.

Pastoral Associate for Outreach - Carrie Roberts, M.A.

Carrie Roberts, M.A. is a former graduate assistant/intern in the University Ministry department of Villanova University.  She holds a Masters of Arts in Theology and a graduate certificate in Pastoral Ministry from Villanova.  Her Bachelor of Arts was earned with a double major in Philosophy and Theology from Aquinas College.  She has experience as a resident hall minister and has been on the organizational team for service trips within the United States and to Belize and Cambodia.  Ms. Roberts organizes all service and outreach opportunities, as well as the peer ministry program.  She may be reached at (630) 829-6028 or croberts@ben.edu.

Minister of the Sacraments - Fr. Philip Timko, O.S.B.

Father Philip Timko, O.S.B. is a native of Joliet, IL.  He is the former acting director of University Ministry and the former Department Head of Theology at Benedictine University.  Fr. Timko staffs all sacraments and Catholic liturgies at Benedictine.  He is also an active faculty member who continues to teach theology classes at the university.  His offices hours are 10:00 to 11:30am on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and 8:00 to 11:30am on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  He may be reached at (630) 829-6030 or ptimko@ben.edu.

Pastoral Associate for Liturgical Music - Anne Madden

Anne Madden is a native of the northwest side of Chicago.  She is a graduate of Valparaiso University with a Bachelor's degree in music.  She studied organ at the University of Notre Dame.  While at Valparaiso University, she served as assistant music director and pianist in the Catholic campus ministry.  Most recently the Music Director at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church in Lemont, IL, Anne is the principal conductor of choirs and accompianist at Sunday liturgies.  She may be reached at (630) 829-6024. amadden@ben.edu.

Vocation Director, St. Procopius Abbey - Fr. James Flint, O.S.B.

Father James Flint, O.S.B. is the Vocation Director of St. Procopius Abbey.  He also serves as the Abbey's Procurator-Treasurer.  His office hours are 4:00 to 5:00pm on Mondays and 8:00 to 9:00pm on Tuesdays.  He can be reached at (630) 829-6030 or jflint@ben.edu.  You can also find Fr.
