Communication Arts at Benedictine University at Springfield offers a variety of opportunities for the serious-minded student interested in a career in mass media and related fields. Our program is designed primarily for the generalist, the savvy student who understands that 21st century communications demands people who are accomplished in a variety of areas of writing, editing and production.

Our program is theoretically and practically based, preparing the student for the horizontal and vertical career moves they will likely make during their lives. The key to today's media environment is convergence, and our programs prepare students with the best chance to succeed in their careers.

Our students benefit from a range of courses in both theory (law and media studies) and applied areas (journalism, electronic media, web design, and public relations), as well as the opportunity to pursue internships in the Springfield area.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about our majors, our curriculum, our faculty, and the many opportunities available to students.

In addition to our undergraduate program in Communication Arts, the Division offers a major in Writing and Publishing. Communication Arts Majors may choose from the following areas of concentration: Sports Communication, Film Studies, or Creative Writing.
