| Matching Gifts |
| |
Many companies offer matching gift programs that can substantially increase the value of your gift. Check with your employer for eligibility. Double or even triple your gift to Benedictine University! More than a thousand
companies offer varying levels of corporate match for their employees' philanthropic
interests. Best of all, you are recognized for the full amount of your own gift
plus any resulting corporate match. If you company is eligible, request a matching
gift form from your employer (human resource department), and send it completed
and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift to the
University may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made
by retirees and/or spouses as well.

| Gifts in Kind |
| |
A gift in kind is a gift that may be one of personal property (other than real estate) or a donation of time, talent and effort. If you are interested in giving a gift in kind, please contact Cathy Wokas at cwokas@ben.edu. |

Personal Property |
| |
|
Outright gifts of artwork, automobiles, or other assets are considered on
a case-by-case basis. In most instances, the gifts are tax-deductible at the
full current market value and if the assets have appreciated in value, you
may avoid the capital gains taxes.
Many time people have generous donation of gifts that can be readily used
by Benedictine University. For example, one person gave a car, which had only
25,000 miles on it. The car is now used by our Admissions Department for visiting
prospective students at local and non-local high schools. Others have given
us relatively new office furniture, and a photocopier. If you have a gift
that you feel confident we would be able to use, let us know! |

Time, Talent and Effort |
| |
|
People may want to support Benedictine University, but cannot do so financially.
Instead, they may be able to offer professional services or unskilled labor.
If you are interested in donating your time and effort, call the Office of University Development and we will be able to help direct you to the department related
to your offer. (By IRS rules, donations of professional services related to
your own profession, are not tax-deductible.) |
