Mike Salatino, Chief of University Police - ext. 6667
Mike Salatino serves as Chief of University Police. Chief Salatino has over (35) years experience in municipal and higher education law enforcement. Chief Salatino held many positions within municipal law enforcement eventually rising to Commander. Chief Salatino holds a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of Southern Police Institute's Command Officers Program.

Paul Creekmore, Deputy Chief of University Police - ext. 1104
Paul has been a police officer in both a forestry and higher education setting. Paul has (11) years of law enforcement experience. Paul served as a Training Officer while at Naperville Park District Police and as Assistant Director of Campus Safety at North Central College. Paul is a graduate of Northwestern University's Center for Public Safety, School of Police Staff and Command.

Derek Ferguson, Day shift Sergeant "A" Team - ext. 1101 
Derek Ferguson has (20) years of law enforcement experience. Derek comes to us from Cook County Hospital Police. Derek is our technology officer and LESO coordinator.  Derek also coordinates the police vehicle fleet's maintenance and care.

Lloyd Popp, Day Shift Sergeant- "B" Team - ext. 6654
Lloyd Popp has over (30) years law enforcement experience. Lloyd comes to us from Aurora Police Department. Lloyd has served as a school liaison officer for (18) years. Lloyd is working towards his Bachelors Degree in Organizational Behavior and Management from Benedictine University. Lloyd is our Court Services Liaison, A firearms instructor and Commander Baldilocks of the Commander Baldilocks Summer Camp Program.

Sharon Rizzi, Night Shift Sergeant "C" Team - ext.1103
Sharon has (14) years experience in law enforcement. Sharon comes to us from Thornton Police Department. Sharon holds a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice.  Sharon is one of our Evidence Custodians and supervises the Bike Unit.

 

Brian Sawyer, Night Shift Sergeant- "D" Team - ext. 1102
Brian Sawyer comes to us from the Campton Hills Police Department where he served as a Sergeant.  Brian is retired from Woodridge Police Department, where he served as a School Resource Officer a number of years.  Brian has (30) years of law enforcement experience.  Brian served in the Iraq Police Mission to help train new Iraqi police officers in international policing techniques.

Police Officers

David Tinsley, Day Shift Police Officer - A- Team
David, has (24) years of municipal Policing experience and has been a police officer for (28) years. David is a retired Sergeant from the Aurora Police Department. Officer Tinsley served as a traffic sergeant while at Aurora Police Department. David is currently employed as a part-time police officer for the Fox Valley Park District Police Department.

Duane Hazelwood, Day Shift Police Officer - A-Team
Duane has (23) years of municipal law enforcement experience.  Duane comes to us from Aurora Police Department where he retired as a patrol sergeant. Duane participated on the Aurora Police SWAT team and often acted as the watch commander for a given shift at Aurora Police Department.

Stephen Van Loan, Night Shift Police Officer - B- Team
Steve, has (24) years of Policing experience and is a retired Sergeant from North Aurora Police Department. Steve holds an Associate's degree in law enforcement and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Behavioral Science.  Steve has worked in juvenile operations, investigations, patrol, evidence unit and served as a firearms instructor.

Debbie Vanderploeg, Day Shift Police Officer - B- Team
Debbie has (4) years of municipal law enforcement experience.  Debbie was a police officer for the Village of Wooddale and Village of Glen Ellyn. Debbie took a short break from police work, to start a family.  Debbie has since returned to law enforcement.  Debbie started at BenU as a Community Service Officer. 

 
John Rogacki, Night Shift Police Officer (K9) - C- Team
John Rogacki has over (30) years of police experience in the municipal setting. John is retired from Norridge Police Department. John is also a music teacher. John is currently Benedictine University Police Department's K9 handler. His partner is Sophie a Golden Retriever. John has (19) years experience in K9 patrol operations.
 

Brad Wilcoxon, Night Shift Police Officer - D- Team
Brad has (30) years of municipal law enforcement experience. Brad retired from the Elmhurst Police Department after (23.5) years, where he ended his career in the evidence unit.  Brad served in both patrol and the evidence unit.  Prior to Elmhurst, Brad was employed with the Dupage County Corrections for (6.5) years.  Brad also works part-time at Elmhurst College in the Security Department.

Jay Dunn, Night Shift Police Officer - D- Team
Jay has over (23) years of municipal law enforcement experience.  Jay comes to us from Aurora Police Department where he retired as a patrol officer. Jay most recently worked as an investigator at the Child Advocacy Center for Kane County.  Jay is an alumni of Benedictine University and holds a master's degree in clinical psychology.

Kevin Triplett, Night Shift Police Officer - C- Team
Kevin, has (24) years of Policing experience and is a retired Sergeant from Aurora Police Department. Kevin has worked in evidence operations, juvenile operations, patrol, SWAT and was a school resource officer.

Community Service Officers

William Torres - Day Shift, Will is a Community Service Officer who handles non-criminal calls in various locations around campus and oversees security of campus buildings.He also assists police officers with various issues around campus.

Jordan Billups - Evening Shift, Jordan is a Community Service Officer who handles non-criminal calls in various locations around campus and oversees security of campus buildings during late evening hours.  He also assists police officers with various issues around campus.
