Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

In the middle of the Advent season we pause to commemorate the appearance of the Virgin Mary in the Western Hemisphere, Mexico, 1531. As we ponder deeply the joy of her message and image, St. Benedict reminds us that as we progress on the way of the Christian journey, we shall run the path of God's commandments; our hearts will overflow with the inexpressible delight of love. This day gives us a chance to reflect on the joy of Advent as a "delighting in virtue."
