Jazz guitarist John Moulder will kick off a series of free noon concerts during the 2008-2009 school year on Monday, September 29 in the Krasa Center Fireside Lounge on the campus of Benedictine University. The concerts are sponsored by the Department of Music and are open to the public. Other Department of Music events scheduled for the 2008-09 school year are: Saturday, October 4 – New Horizons Band 10th Anniversary Concert and Banquet, 3:00 p.m., Krasa Center Second Floor. Monday, October 27 – Concert at Noon Series featuring Alicia Cordoba Tait, oboe, 12:00-1:00 p.m., Krasa Center Fireside Lounge. Saturday-Sunday, November 8-9, Festival of the Arts Saturday, November 8: Preparatory and Applied Students Recital, 1:00 p.m., Scholl Hall Room 101. Voice Students Recital, 2:30 p.m., Scholl Hall Room 101. Sunday, November 9: Concert Band, 4:00 p.m., St. Daniel Hall at Benet Academy Monday, November 24 – Concert at Noon Series featuring the Mosaic Ensemble, 12:00-1:00 p.m., Krasa Center Fireside Lounge Sunday, December 7 – “Lessons and Carols” featuring the Concert Band, Concert Choir, and Faculty and Student Ensembles, 7:30 p.m., St. Procopius Abbey. Saturday, December 13 – Holiday Concert featuring the Benedictine University New Horizons Band, 3:00 p.m., St. Daniel Hall at Benet Academy, $4.00 admission.
