Two down. One to go. Three league teams defeated the Benedictine University volleyball team during the regular season and, in the first two rounds of the Northern Athletics Conference tournament, the Eagles have been able to return the favor to two of them. The third attempt comes Saturday. After topping Concordia University (Wis.) in three games (30-28, 30-23, 30-24) on Thursday evening, BU will take on No. 1 seeded Lakeland College for the NAC tournament championship. The game will be Saturday (Nov. 3) at 3:00 p.m. in Sheboygan, Wis. Freshman Kayla Leyden had another outstanding effort, pounding down a game-high 17 kills and registering a .308 attack percentage. Leyden also had 24 digs. Danielle Mikos had 12 kills and six blocks. Teammate Rachel Sypole added eight kills, seven digs and two blocks. Sarah Flores had a game-leading 34 digs on the defensive side of things. Senior setter Angela Vitto had 41 assists and 11 digs. Making it to the championship game also gives the Eagles a chance to defend their 2006 NAC tournament title. Last season BU was the second seed and won the tournament.
