National Archives Month 2012
October 19, 2012
The Benedictine University Library is celebrating American Archives Month with a series of events featuring the history of the University. Opening on October 19th is a new exhibit in the library featuring the history of Benedictine’s campuses and buildings. American Archives Month events begin Thursday 10/25 at 4:00 p.m. with a short history chat presented by Archives & Special Collections Librarian Julie Wroblewski and an open house in the new archives space on the lower level of the library. In addition, half hour mini-tours of the archives, featuring selected artifacts and rare books and limited edition giveaways, will also be offered every Monday at 5:00 pm and Wednesday at noon from 10/29 through 11/19. These events are free and open to the public, as well as the University community.
The open house will also mark the kick off of the “I Found It In the Archives” contest, open to all BenU students, staff, and faculty. Contest winners will receive special recognition as well as a behind-the-scenes, all-access tour of the archives and its rarest items. For more details on the events or the contest contact Julie Wroblewski.
