Introduction to the Intensive English Program

Prospective students interested in attending Benedictine University who do not meet the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) requirements for regular admission may attend the Intensive English Program. The program is designed to prepare students for success in an academic environment. Students will attend 20 hours a week of intensive full-time instruction, in addition to participating in campus activities outside of the classroom. The program credit hours fulfill the full-time enrollment requirements for students studying on an F visa. Students who meet program requirements can begin studying academic coursework while still completing their intensive English courses, providing a pathway to full-time degree status.
