Students-at-large

There are many valuable courses taught through our graduate programs that you may be interested in taking. If you choose to take a course without pursuing a degree you are considered a student-at-large. As a student-at-large you should consult faculty advising for course suggestions.It is important to understand that students-at-large are not eligible for financial aid and also a maximum of 16 quarter-hours or nine semester-hours of credit may be applied to a degree program, if a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better is achieved. To enroll in courses, visit the Enrollment Services department with proof of an undergraduate degree.

Certificates

Certificate programs are designed for professionals looking to expand their knowledge in a specific area or who want to familiarize themselves with a core graduate program curriculum.  Courses may be taken in any quarter of the year and up to 16 credits may be applied toward a master's degree if completed at a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  This allows students to begin coursework before committing to the degree program.

Students seeking a certificate are required to submit a Certificate Program application, $30 application fee, and transcripts showing proof of undergraduate degree conferral. Students taking courses in certificate programs are considered students-at-large and therefore are not eligible for financial aid.

Illinois WorkNet Partner
