3+1 RN to BSN Partnership Programs

3+1 RN to BSN Partnership Program

For AAS in Nursing Graduates from COD, Harper, Morton and Triton College

Benedictine University has partnered with College of DuPage, Harper College, Morton College and Triton College to offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) 3+1 Program open to students and alumni who have earned an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree with a major in Nursing at our partner schools. Designed to build upon previous knowledge and experience, the program is designed for the working RN who is juggling multiple life priorities.

The entire program can be completed in 12 months at one of our convenient locations. Partner and non-partner applicants may apply to any cohort location and start time. However, graduates from partner schools applying under the 3+1 Partnership agreement will be given priority for admission.

Cohort locations and start times

  • Benedictine University in Lisle – June start
  • College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn – January and August start
  • Morton College in Cicero – June start
  • Triton College in River Grove – January and August start

Length of Program

12 months (37 credit hours)

Tuition

2013-2014 Tuition is $290 per credit hour

Two scheduling options

  • Wednesday evenings 6:00-9:30 p.m. and every other Monday evening 6:00-9:30 p.m. (COD and Morton)
  • Tuesday evenings 6:00-9:30 p.m. and every other Thursday evening 6:00-9:30 p.m. (Benedictine and Triton)

Admission Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science degree with a major in Nursing conferred by partner school.
  • A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA from all colleges and universities attended.
  • A current, unencumbered Illinois registered nurse (RN) license.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency by a completed Benedictine University Computer Literacy Questionnaire – sent to applicant upon receipt of application.
  • Letter of recommendation from a manager or supervisor. New graduates may obtain a letter from a clinical nursing instructor.
  • All required prerequisite coursework must be completed prior to starting Benedictine's nursing cohort classes. See Academic Plans below for information on required coursework.

It is recommended that students start the application process for the BSN completion program during the last term of the A.A.S. Nursing program. Students must submit a completed Benedictine Adult Undergraduate Application to be considered for admission to Benedictine's B.S.N. completion program. Please refer to the B.S.N. application checklist for a list of required application materials.

Current College of DuPage students only:

In order to receive updates about the 3+1 Partnership program including information on fairs, expected changes in requirements and information sessions, complete COD's 3+1 transfer application. This form should be submitted to COD's Admissions and Outreach office located in the Student Services Center (SSC), Room 2207. This application is not an application for admission to Benedictine's B.S.N. completion program.
