It is a privilege to lead the Alumni Board as its President.  As Benedictine University nears its 125th Anniversary, it is such a glorious accomplishment and time to celebrate! The number of alumni continues to grow exponentially, and I am thrilled to see what is in store for us. 

I feel privileged to have been a student and equally privileged to be an alumnus of an institution that values and actively encourages alumni to remain engaged in the day-to-day life – and future – of the University.  Time spent in pursuit of higher education is understood to be transformative.  The exposure to new ideas, people and perspectives changes the way you see yourself, the world, and your place in it. That was certainly true of my student experience; but what I had not contemplated during my time at BU was that my years as an alumnus could be equally as impactful. 

I am proud to be part of a Board that generously supports University activities and priorities financially and with our time, expertise, and enthusiasm.  My vision for the Alumni Board is one of a social, giving, and career-orientated community that provides support for students and alumni alike.  Like in past years, our board members will continue working hard to create career and social opportunities for our alumni.  As the Alumni Board works to build a strong community, I encourage alumni to celebrate Benedictine’s 125^th Anniversary and reflect back on how you benefited and how you can continue to carry the light.
