Advising suggestions

An optional suggestion for students needing 18 hours of upper level baccalaureate courses:
  • Take 3 Excelsior exams = 24 credits
for information visit the Excelsior College web site
Courses suggested on our checksheet include NURX 310 (Adult Nursing 554), NURX 315 (Nursing Baccalaureate 457) & NURX 320 (Health Nursing 503)
(Excelsior Exams need to be completed with a "C" or better)

  • NRHL 395 Nursing Elective (independent study 1-3 credit hours).  Options that may be available to students are earning 1-3 credits for Independent Study and/or through portfolio presentation documenting prior Work/Life Experience.  Both options allow for earning up to 3 credits, consistent with the Benedictine University policy described in the catalog.  Students are requested to contact the Program Coordinator regarding interest in either option prior to enrollment in their last semester.   Completion of WRIT 102, enrollment in the final semester of the Program, and consent of Program Coordinator are required.

Please note that students must ADD and DROP courses though the Nursing Department and not independently online. Some courses are not open to cohort students and there are tuition details that may be missed if not initiated through the department. If you have any questions, please contact the department first.
