OD Alumni, Hay and Orr, Receive Award for Article

Ph.D. in Organization Development alums, George Hay, Ph.D. (’03) and Debra Orr, Ph.D. (’03), along with two other co-authors, Lisa Meyer, Ed.D, M.F.A, Lead, Argerie Vasilakes, all received the “Outstanding Special Section Award” for their article, “Advancing OD Doctoral Education Through Publishing” (Volume 54, Issue 4).

George W. Hay, PhD is a scholar-practitioner of management with global experience in business and academe. Dr. Hay is a Full Professor in the Business Psychology Department at the Chicago Campus of the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He teaches in their PhD programs in Organizational Leadership and Business Psychology. Dr. Hay has taught courses for Benedictine University in organizational theory, research methods, and leadership practices to undergraduate, masters and doctoral students within the Chicago area as well as internationally in Shenyang, China.

Debra Orr, Ph.D., is a professor of organizational leadership and development at Roosevelt university. As a scholar-practitioner, she believes in bringing real-world practices and problems into the classroom and scholarly research and evidence-based practices into the workplace. She consults with organizations both large and small, established and start up. She has served as an executive coach for entrepreneurs as well as Fortune 500 presidents. Her first book entitled, Team for Change: a practitioner’s guide to implementing change in the modern workplace was released in Spring of 2021.
